My Experience at Anastasia's Brow Salon

So this post will be horribly uninformative as I accidentally deleted all my footage and pictures of the before and after. Regardless I'd like to share my experience at Anastasia's Brown Salon with you all in case you were as curious as I was about it. A little background on the company: Anastasia's is a famous brow salon located in Beverly Hills, and she's credited for taking care of many celebrity's brows. I'd always been curious about it, but was discouraged by the hefty price tag. I get my brows threaded for a measly $8 (and thats including tip) so $30 for a wax (pre-tip) is a bit off putting for me. However my brow salon of choice is considerably far from where I go to school, so I figured i'd give the Anastasia Brow Salon located in a Nordstrom near me a go.

The visit:

Despite not having made an appointment, she was able to graciously accomodate me about an hour or so after I arrived at the mall. So heads up! Make an appointment! Next she led me in to a small room where she gave me the normal small talk of where your brow should start, arch and end. Next she filled in my brow with a high arch (to preserve as much hair as possible) and waxed whatever didn't fit in the stencil. After that she put on whatever balm they use to soothe the freshly waxed skin. Then she used their brow powders to fill in my brow using their medium arch stencil.

Now here's where I started getting a bit uncomfortable. I have a pretty high pain tolerance (I don't ever take painkillers, not even novacaine) but I guess some of the wax was sticking to my brow and so she used a disposable mascara spoolies to try and remove it. No problem...it didn't bother me until thirty seconds or so. The skin became really raw there from all the scrubbing with the spoolie, and she didn't realize she was hurting me until my eyes started tearing. Not completely her fault of course, I don't like to whine to people who are doing me a service unless its absolutely necessary. Next she placed highlighter all over the ball of my eyes, underneath the brow bone, and in the inner corner (to perk up the brows, brighten the eyes etc). Now my only issue was...I was clearly wearing eyeshadow as I had wanted to film my before and after. I was a little upset that the emollient highlighters were now all mixed up in my eyeshadow, but figured it wasn't a huge deal.

Overall when I saw the end product, i'd have to say I like how my brows looked, but I didn't love it. I think i've only loved how I had my brows shaped once, but they were definitely far from the worst I've ever seen them. I do think the benefit to their stencils is they'll never overpluck, but I think its limiting as far as customizing each brow shaping. Also I'd like to note that whatever she used on my brows post wax made me break out horribly along my brows. Generally I'm not sensitive to products. In fact, the only thing that's ever broken me out badly is BB creams. I had 5-6 tiny pimples spring up in the next two days after my waxing session. I'd hope it's just a bad reaction from the ointment and not due to negligence or dirty tools. Looking back on it now, I really wish she had just asked if I wanted the cream highlighters or soothing gels (but the soothing gel is definitely more understandable...but I find all the highlighters pretty unnecessary).

PROS:

-No matter which location you go to, you can expect a tweeze that is relatively the same

-They don’t believe in plucking the brow too thin, and the stencils they use help to reduce over shaping

-They have a stamp card program! Much like many bubble tea places if you get (either 9 or 10) stamps then you get a free wax! Pretty cool (and asians love free stuff hehe)

CONS:

-Expensive, and few locations

-I wish they just had eyebrow shaping and left out the highlighters, filling it in etc. I really think she should have asked before she applied it all over my makeup

-I didn’t feel these were the best and most appropriate brow for me, but it wasn’t awful either.

-I had a horrible reaction to the soothing balm they use post waxing

Overall I don't think i'd return and try it again. The shapes just weren't overly flattering to my face shape, but they weren't horrible either. If not for how painful the extra wax removal was and my bad reaction to the creams I might have considered going back, but I don't think Anastasia's is for me.

Love all of them especially the SHIMMERS. The bright shimmers are ironically my fave (I'm more of a neutral kind of girl) but it's nice to have a decently priced, pigmented, easy to work with color on days you want to play with color (without investing a whole lot in it). The only one I dont recommend is BHCS05, its supposed to be a silver shimmer but its more like packed silver glitter that doesn't pick up well. That's the only color I encountered difficulty with

Helllloooo my wonderful blog readers :)

Sorry for the kind of underwhelming blog posts lately. I know that people have always enjoyed that I talked about personal things on my blog, and I'm glad because thats what I originally intended it to be. I wanted my blog to be a place I could connect with people and share more of my life outside of youtube, beauty, etc because these things are honestly only a very small part of my life. However as I've gotten larger on youtube and as many other youtubers have addressed, the hate and negativity surrounding youtubers has been ridiculous. I'm no longer going to talk about life, friends etc because my friends, family and the people I associate with don't deserve to be harassed, stalked, snooped on etc (essentially punished) for the decisions I've made to make videos. Also as many of you have noticed, I'm no longer going to host my own blogtvs. At least I can teehee at the "haters", but my friends receive nothing and don't deserve the invasion of privacy.

So with that being said, I'm sorry. I'm quite sad myself...I had lots of funny pictures, stories etc to share. I agree that it's completely ridiculous a few bad apples have to ruin it for everyone. I know some of you guys have followed me from day one, and I really and truly appreciate it. But once again I won't let my friends be punished for the decisions I make.

Therefore, this blog will from now on only be reviews, swatches and the like (boring stuff). Probably the only other people it will feature are people who have also made the same silly decisions as me to "put ourselves out there". But if we didn't who would you have to titter about all day?

I seriously considered deleting my twitter as well, but im going to keep it around since its honestly the easiest and fastest platform for me to communicate with people when they ask a question. So if you wanted anything answered somewhat quickly, just head over there @mszjackiechu. Sometimes I don't see it right away but if I don't get back to you that day try again and hopefully I'll see it that time!

My First Jewelmint Purchase :)

So I had heard a lot about this company. I have to say I was pretty doubtful at first (I'm a critic/pessimist) particularly because the company was a subscription service and I had never dealt with a company like that before. For those of you guys that don't know what Jewelmint is, its a monthly subscription service and for $29.99 a month (however, theres a million 1/2 off codes floating around) you get to pick a piece "chosen" for you :) however I'd ALWAYS advise to hit the "show me more" tab on the left main screen so you can see the ENTIRE website's selection for that month

Pros:

-Unique jewelry, everyone should find something they like

-Quality pieces and packaging

-Often have 50% off coupons

-Has ideas on what to wear with the pieces you choose

-Offers FREE jewelry if you refer your friend. I only decided to check it out and purchase two pieces because I heard good review after good review about this site, and not just from people who received these for free. Subscribers, random blogs and yes fellow youtubers (whose opinion I know I can trust and count on) only had good things to say. I decided to buy them on my own (even though the company previously messaged me) because I think my email to them got lost and I was afraid of the pieces I'd like selling out. Okay now discounts aside I think it's important to change my opinion of my Unii palette. Unii palettes are these cute korean-made free form palettes that I bought and featured in two of my videos including my "What I bring with me when I travel" video. These are way sturdier than MAC palettes (too thin) or z palettes (made out of cardboard, is you serious?!) but they're also 2x as expensive. I don't find fault in them at all EXCEPT I don't think the magnet is strong enough. During travel I noticed my shadows kept lifting from the bottom and flying around the container. At first I thought it was just me because I've seen people flip these upside down and nothing moved, but I think if you use the magnets they give you and cover the entire pan of the shadow/blush you'll be fine. And I confirmed with a few other people to make sure it wasn't just my bad luck. I put MAC products in mine and the magnet they come with are pretty small, and the Unii can't hold on to them, (and Rae had problems with her LM blush shifting too). So just thought i'd throw that out there because I feel like its a pretty important flaw of the product :[ For 30$ that magnet better hold on to a freakin' car or something (haha...kidding but it better hold on tight to my eyeshadows!). A lot of my shadows have chips in them now from being tossed around inside :[

Okay off to read more, sorry guys I'll do my NY posts soon but i'm struggling with blogspots uploading system. It drives me bonkers! But I think for now I'll stick with it and consider wordpress in the future :) Take care

25 Random Facts About Me :)

I keep seeing people I follow do this tag, and it's funny how much you learn about people through it (even people who you speak to often) so I thought it'd be a fun and easy blog post to do :)

1. I'm INCREDIBLY afraid of the dark, so much so I can't sleep without a light on. I'll stay awake even if it means being awake until the sun rises and then sleeping when there's light. Speaking of sleeping, I have nightmares almost every single night. I usually wake up at least once or twice in my sleep

2. I love animals. Honestly I like them more than people. I'll make excuses for mean animals but not rotten people LOL. They love you no matter what, they don't care about how you look or how you dress, the money you have etc...and even if they don't love you at least they wont pretend like they do :P

3. I am NOTORIOUS for losing everything. Clothes, shoes, sunglasses (especially). Anyone who hangs out with me enough starts looking around every time we leave somewhere because they know I probably left something behind

4. I am half Cantonese, half Mandarin Chinese. Culturally I identify more with my Cantonese half, but I speak mostly Mandarin Chinese (my mom focused on speaking mandarin to me because it is more universal)

5. I never kept my nails painted until youtube (I do it so no one will harp at me haha!).But now I really like and appreciate how it looks :)

6. I have a really bad habit of shaking my foot that I'm trying to stop. I think it's horrendous but I do it whenever I'm idle

7. I have IBS/Spastic Colon. So basically my digestive system doesn't work very well. I'm usually pretty bloated if not in pain -_-

8. I stand at only 5'2 but I'm the tallest person in my family (my dad used to be taller but he shrunk with age, but even then he was only 5'4)

Chinese fan dance...Haha sometime during elementary school

9. I learned all sorts of dance growing up. I took ballet for 14 years, 6 or so years of Chinese folk dancing, and I dabbled a bit in ball room, hip hop and some other courses too.

10. I can sleep for 14 hours+ if you let me ;_; and I'm incredibly grumpy and snappy when I'm tired.

11. I play the gu zheng, otherwise known as the chinese harp. My mom gave me the options of piano or violin and I told her I didn't want either because they're so typical. Eventually we settled on something a bit more unique :P

12. I never went to school with another Asian until high school.

13. I can eat as much as my boyfriend who is a little over 6'1 -_- But I like to believe it's because HE eats too little and not because I eat too much :p

14. I have a crazy work ethic. I refuse to text during work, slack off or not finish a job I know needs to be done, regardless of the time I'm being paid for. If I have to stay and work overtime and off the clock I will. If I ever feel I didn't do something as well as I can it'll nag at me long after

15. My only food addictions in life are: boba (bubble) milk tea, spicy tuna rolls, fresh spring rolls, xia long baos, anything soupy or noodle/pasta dishes and most recently, street tacos :D!!!

16. I don't particularly like hello kitty, but for some reason I feel obligated to purchase hello kitty stuff and to think it's cute. Does that make any sense -_-?

17. I have a really heavy conscience. I just don't understand people who don't respect other people's right to be happy, but I'm a big believer in Karma as well.

18. I never carry around cash because I think it's obnoxious and I tend to spend it more frivolously than the money on my debit card (which makes no sense).

19. I want to learn photoshop so I can alter the hell out of my pictures and make myself a babe 8) (half joking) But I really want to spruce my blog up in general :)

20. I hated tea as a kid but now I loooveee drinking tea :) I think its so relaxing.

21. People hate texting me unless they have iPhones as well because I text like its AIM. -_- So basically I habitually text in many short bursts

22. I'm incredibly paranoid. I think this is something thats kind of come out of my life experiences. I used to trust everyone and now I don't trust anyone.

23. I haven't had short hair since 10th grade. It was the result of a bad hair cut-she chopped off all my hair when I only asked for a trim. She asked me how I liked it and I cried because prom was the next week x.x

24. I really hate my youtube screen name. I made it a long time ago and never thought it'd be something that would remain affiliated with me since I never thought i'd upload my own videos. I might as well have made it xXmszjackiechuXx or something even more asian ^___^V

blegh. Haha

25. I have one older sister and two (much older) half sisters.

Oh. Do I even need to introduce this one? Since this youtube video went viral I've had countless subscribers send me links, parodies, news articles etc. But let me just say this: I think this incident has gone way out of control.

Now let me make it clear that I am NOT defending her. It's clear to me that she's narrow-minded, self-entitled, a bigot and foolish. I'm not saying what she did wasn't stupid. The truth is this girl just ruined her life with a 3 minute webcam rant gone viral. Sounds dramatic right? But new stories are being posted on this by the minute, and not just by some bored kids during finals week. LA Times, New York Daily, and even the chancellor of UCLA himself has commented on this incident. Her name has even started to be a trending topic on twitter. How will she ever show her face again on campus with a student population that is over 40% asian?

Let me first explain what bothers me about the video:

- "These hoards of asian people that UCLA accepts in to our school every year". She refers to UCLA as "our school", does this mean that if you are a student and you are not white then it is not your school?

-Mocking asian family ties. ESPECIALLY the part where she complains about the whole family coming over from china...earth to you. Practically everyone immigrated here. America isn't "yours" either.

-The whole ching chong ling long ting tong junk. Note to self: Write that on tomorrow's final and see if my teacher will accept it as integration of new outside vocabulary LOL

-The complete insensitivity to those affected by the tsunami.

But in all honesty I'm kind of shocked (and disappointed) by the asian community's reaction to this video. I've seen death threats, her address posted, email, contact information everything. Calling her a "bitch" "slut" "whore", and multiple posts encouraging people to contact UCLA school officials to have her expelled...come on now. Seriously?

This epitomizes what I hate MOST about the asian community. One of my friends mentioned he was glad this video happened and that it, "bonded and united the asian community". These are not the kind of issues we should be bonding over. I feel like one of our shortcomings as a community is we pick and pick and pick at people until there is just nothing left. We actively participate and revel in watching people fall, and lack empathy towards those we do not identify with. THIS video should not have been re-tweeted hundreds of times in an hour when I feel no videos regarding Tsunami fundraising where given such attention or passion. The way I see it getting this girl kicked out of school is not going to change her feelings of entitlement or thoughts toward asian culture. It won't erase the bigotry that has been deeply engrained there for many years. She obviously opened up a can of worms with this one, and I promise you guys she is already deeply paying for her lapse of judgement. Regardless of the school's actions, I really don't think she can continue to soundly go to school there (unless she changes her name and gets a great dye job). I'm also pretty sure that at the very least she won't be completing her finals this quarter. I'm sure she's paid enough and will continue to pay in the days and weeks to come.

So yes, she was dumb. We all know this. She should have just moved higher up in the library to the quieter floors (every library at the UCs are like this, the higher up you go the more studious and quiet the people). It would have taken much less time than making, editing and uploading a video to youtube. Yet another random and sporadic blog post.

Why? Because I made some particularly potent hot royal milk tea (I've been trying to perfect the recipe >.<) and I can't sleep. Although I really should.

So after going to the gym and letting my hair down I thought BLEGH. I mean I had worked out a lot but still...inexcusable. Was in much need of a deep conditioning treatment -_-

After :D Perffeeccttion. Excuse my vanity but I thought the mane looked particularly awesome in this picture and look! it works :) The second pic is of my hair non-straightened, it lays flat much better when its moisturized ^^ So now you guys know that the Hask n Placenta Hair mask with olive oil works and i'm not trying to get a kick of you using unspoken body parts on your hair.

Next I'm sad about finals but I started studying a week ago so I'm pretty confident in all of mine :) I'm so excited to go to New York. You guys have no idea...its pretty much all i've been thinking about. That and all the DELICIOUS food I will be religiously blogging ^^ Zee boyfriend has to go to work Wed-Fri when I'm there so I'll have my daylight hours to make videos and blog for you guys :D Also I should have a imju fiberwig mascara review up soon. I LOVE THIS MASCARA AHH! :D But it's been kind of hard for me to figure out a good side shot so that's whats been keeping me. But it's wonderful...it really does give you a falsie-like effect :) Perfect if you're like me who loves the look of falsies but would feel uncomfortable with the thought of wearing them everyday.

Also I thought I'd share with you guys some stories since I've been studying so much for....you already know what. CHINESE. Joy. My entire life now centers around your class Liu Laoshi. Haha but in all honestly I actually loved her as a teacher and am quite sad she won't be teaching the second half of the class :[ But every day in class I sit next to the same guy and we we're exchanging stories about how we were both reluctant to learn chinese when we were young....obviously my stubbornness was more outrageous. I've always been VERY stubborn (and spiteful!) . Thankfully I'm not quite like this any longer though so *deep breath* story time okay?

So there are two incidents that I recall clearly growing up. The first was my father telling my mom that no one was to speak or interact with me unless I spoke chinese. This meant no eating (being fed), no being spoken to, no going out, nothing. So yup, I starved myself for four days with no food. As a child I wasn't really fond of eating anyway...my mom took me to the doctor when I was in 2nd grade because I'd only eat a tablespoon of rice and she was worried I had an eating disorder. Now she knows this lack of interest in food is because I've always hated rice because its terribly bland LOL. Even to this day I only have rice when I'm eating sushi...and that's about it. But between starve or learn chinese. I chose starve. Obviously this method of encouragement failed and life resumed as normal sans chinese.

Second...I was still in second grade so this was about the same time as story number one. My parents were about to go out to dinner and my dad gave me the option of "study for your chinese test or get out the house". So you can guess what I did...I started packing. Hahaha I spent the whole 4 hours of their absence packing all my adolescent things and bringing them downstairs. By the time my parents got home my mom came in to the living room to see me staring at a tower of boxes 5 boxes high...and me sitting there with a puzzled look on my face trying to figure out how the hell I was going to get it all on my little red wagon and out the door. She asked me what I was doing with the boxes and I explained that my options were study or get out...so I chose get out. She kind of just rolled her eyes at this and sat down with me to study -_- haha

Moral of this story: Even if your dad is a huge jerk off, learn the language anyway so you don't have to spend excessive hours in college catching up. Well okay thats not the real moral of this post...the true moral is don't make overly strong tea at 3 am and expect to sleep or make comprehensible blog posts

So where have you been D:?!

Sorry guys, I've just been so horrendously busy. I just have a really bad school schedule this quarter with awful gaps so i'm on campus literally until 630 many nights and start as early as 7 on others -_- . In addition to that I'm taking a chinese class and let me tell you right now that my chinese leaves much to be desired LOL. But I'm in an accelerated course thats designed for people who can at least understand chinese, so many of my peers are people who were born in Taiwan and moved here when they were young. Thats honestly where most of my time has gone to... I spend a few hours on chinese every single day. I HAVE to or otherwise I'd probably fail because even the kids who are much more fluent than I need to study constantly. On top of that we have pages and pages of homework everyday...if you follow me on twitter then you know I always harp about it -_-

Six pages that day -_- it gets a lot worse than this though we've had up to nine pages in one day...at least most of this was just copying words and not writing pages of sentences.

That being said, I also study really hard for it because this is one of my only chances I have left to learn it. Sure I can learn in the future, but this will probably be the last time I can learn Chinese in a classroom setting. It's actually become really important for me to better my Chinese. When I was younger I refused to speak it so I'm left with a pretty poor grasp of it now. I think why I resented learning Chinese so much was because I associated it with everything I hated about myself growing up. For one my father tried forcing me to speak it and I never had a good relationship with my father. In fact, if you asked him my name or age right now he'd probably not be able to answer correctly within 4-5 tries. He could tell you that I play the chinese harp, can perform traditional chinese dances and did ballet for years but he wouldn't be able to tell you one personal thing about myself. My parents aren't divorced, but they're certainly not close or affectionate in the way american families are. My parents have never even said I love you to each other. My relationship with my father is pretty long and dark but I first and foremostly refused to speak chinese because I knew he wanted me to (and I'm an incredibly spiteful person). Secondly I just hated being asian in general. I've always been honest about this...about how I grew up blaming my ethnicity for the problems I had fitting in. Kids would pull their eyes, imitate chinese to me etc, so I never liked being chinese until well in to high school.

Many years later I find myself envying the kids who can competently read and write in their native language. My mother can speak Cantonese, Mandarin, Toisan and English fluently and also knows some Burmese...it wasn't until the age I am now that I realized how incredibly helpful and amazing that is. I seethe with envy every time she casually orders dim sum for us, changes to Mandarin when she sees a friend and casually changes back to English with my sister and I. It's definitely nice to stay in touch with your roots, so if you're young and reading this realize that it only gets harder to learn when you're older :) and that it's worth it and a admirable skill to have in the future. So don't be stupid like me! And learn :) learn all you can!

Lastly... finals are coming up, JOY! Not. But then after that I get to go to my favorite place ^^ New York! Ahhh east coast how I've missed you. Not your horrible weather or many potholes that leave my butt black and bruised the next day, but everything else is pretty much a win in my opinion :) :) I haven't seen my boyfriend in over 8 weeks now :/ I think once it hits 6 weeks of not seeing him that's the hardest. I didn't get to see him for Valentine's Day or his birthday (he's 24 now ^^) because If you miss even ONE day of chinese it lowers your grade..miss two days and its a full letter grade lower! -_- As you can see my chinese class has taken over my life and it wouldn't be worth it to go for only 36 hours AND lower my grade. Also if I had went I wouldn't be able to afford to go for the much longer winter break :[ So alas...story of our lives D: But at least I get to see him soon :)

Oh and a quick question to you all, thank you for the many compliments on this eye look ^^ I'm actually really liking these lenses too, but could any of you recommend to me a prescription lens that is this color from a brand like acuvue etc? A lot of people recommended freshlooks but I was wondering if you guys knew of any others? I've always wanted grey contacts but don't like how many of them look :[:[:[ But I also don't want to keep wearing these circle lens as I find them to be incredibly uncomfortable and I do question their safety.

I really wanted to love BB creams....but unfortunately didn't. They just dont work with my skin and gave me what was literally the worst acne I have ever had in my life. That being said I am in the MINORITY and most people really enjoy these.

Quick Run Through:

L'egere- around 20

Pro: AMAZING Oil control, darker shade, nice natural color (it looks SUPER dark in the tube, but dont be afraid it looks nice on ^^)

Con: Super thick and difficult to spread, obnoxious to get your hands on, doesnt list the spf and is obnoxiously vague on the product itself in concern to purpose etc

Lioele Water Drop BB Cream- around 16-20

Pro: Easier to spread...kind of luminous looking...or maybe its cause its too freaking light haha

Con: REALLY light...it looked mask like on me and im NC20...not enough of a yellow tint for me too (it looks more yellow on my hand than it does on my face), got really oily very quickly

Missha Signature BB Cream #23- Around 40 dollars

Pro: VERY light, super easy to spread, more moisturizing than the other two, very nice natural finish, claims to be of higher quality and natural ingredients than perfect cover

Con: Some people may think its runny, expensive

Ponds Flawless White Review :)

So recently I've been able to try out Pond's Whitening line only released in Asia- Flawless White. I must say...I was pretty darn skeptical. However i've been long searching for a more affordable alternative to White Lucent to share with my viewers as well as a change in the whitening aspect of my skincare. I actually came across this line as I was browsing on Yesstyle, and the only reason I even considered trying it was because it's a CLEAR knock off of White Lucent. If you're going to package your product like something that works, you better be prepared to back that challenge up! I did some more research and it had glowing reviews, and similar to Lancome's Genefique promise improved skin tone in 7 days. So I tried to make a graph comparing them to help you guys decide if this would be a good purchase for you.

In all honesty I thought i'd choose to make a video for you guys on cosmetics or something else I got from the site, but this was my absolute top pick of the bunch :)

Overall I have to say this line impressed me. I’ve been a faithful Shiseido user since I was 13 or 14, and I didn’t think a drugstore brand would ever gain my respect. I would say my biggest concern about this line is the scent- now I actually LIKE the scent- I much prefer it to Shiseido’s. It smells like wonderful perfume to me :) However I understand that it is daunting to put something that smells so strongly on your face. I think the first time I used Flawless White I thought the smell was overwhelming, but after that I didn’t really notice it anymore. You really only notice the scent anyways when you first apply the lotion and cleanser.

Other things I think that are important to note is that this LIGHTENED my skin incredibly. So quickly in fact that it honestly kind of concerned me but as of yet I’ve seen no adverse side effects so for now I’m just shrugging it off (they did promise results after 7 days after all J). I don’t care so much for this effect of whitening creams, I use them because I want my skin to be even not casper white- but I know many ladies are interested in this of whitening skincare so I feel like its important to mention.

I think in many aspects this is right on par with white lucent, but I will concede that I felt white lucent gave my skin this translucency that I did really like. But do I think white lucent is more than 2x better? No. As far as whitening properties go (the true purpose of these lines) Ponds Flawless White is a TRUE bang for your buck. I love Shiseido…LOVE it, it served me faithfully for many years. But its not two times better than Pond’s Flawless White in any aspect.

Jackie's Guide to SoCal Boba :)

So if you follow my twitter you probably always hear me harp about how I don't like certain types of boba and how I think SoCal boba is always a winner. You're probably wondering...well why do you care? Well let me tell you that I'm seriously addicted to boba! I love me a good cup of boba like how a fine wine connoisseur loves a vintage glass of wine.

So what's boba? For those of you that don't know, boba (also known by its other names bubble tea and tapioca milk tea) is a popular Asian drink that hails all the way from Taiwan- it all began when a tea shop owner experimented with different ways to inspire children and adults alike to enjoy cold milk tea. Usually it consists of a sweetened milk tea where it is optional to add flavorings- such as: honey, almond, honeydew etc...but it can also be a slushee fruit drink as well :)

Since you guys always hear me talk about how California boba is better, let me tell you why. There's just a different standard for boba here: all the shops make it fairly well, so you have to be able to compete if you want business. To me the perfect cup of milk tea is not diluted and sweet and flavorful enough to be enjoyed on it's own. The perfect boba (or tapioca pearls) should be sweet and chewy, but with no hard center. I've had boba all over the united states, and I promise you the best cup is waiting for you in California :) So here I will tell you my favorite places to go, and the drinks they specialize in.

Los Angeles Area

AU-79 - Arcadia and San Gabriel locations

If you are in the 626 area (Alhambra, San Gabriel, Monterey Park, Arcadia, San Marino etc) you are one lucky soul! 626 is the mecca for authentic, cheap and delicious Asian food in southern California. AU-79 is authentic in the aspect that the focus is their delicious teas- milk teas, green teas etc. Get the pink boba, it's not only cute but really sweet and yummy as well :)

Half & Half- San Gabriel and Monterey Park locations

One of those places you don't really go to for milk tea- it's kind of bitter and just doesn't taste that good. The star here is their iced milk drink with honey boba and pudding. Sounds weird, and trust me I'm picky and I hate weird, but it is one of the most addicting drinks I've ever tried. The textures and flavors together compliment each other so well, delicious :)

The first time I went here was with my boyfriend, and being the horrible conniving girlfriend I am I forced him to get the iced milk drink since he's far less pickier than I am LOL. Well karma bit me in the butt with that one and I ended up hating the milk tea and stealing all of his drink- so trust me. Even though it sounds horrendous it's delicious and me and my friends all HIGHLY recommend it :)

Orange County Area

Tastea- Garden Grove

DO NOT. And I mean DO NOT get milk tea here..I had one sip of mine and threw it out LOL. This place is known for their delicious fruit slushees :) My favorite is mango all the way, its a delicious icy sweet drink with real mango chunks inside! And of course I get boba added in ;]

Cha For Tea- Irvine, Ca

This establishment is in walking distance from UCI. The milk teas here are some of the best :) In more authentic tea houses I recommend the milk teas over any slushee drinks- as they definitely do them right. Their tea is sweet, and one of my favorites from any of the tea-focused shops is Royal Milk Tea. It's made with Earl Grey Tea and is slightly sweeter and super flavorful :)

Ten Rens- Riverside, Ca

Who would of thought good boba exists in the middle of the inland empire? This is actually my favorite Ten Rens location I've ever been to ( I think all the ones in LA are just O.K) . Should you ever run through however, this place makes some of the best milk teas and slushees I've ever had. All their milk teas are excellent, and so is their strawberry kiwi green tea- it comes with little strawberry bits ^_^

Tapioca Express- Convoy St. in San Diego, Ca

I only get one thing when I visit here: watermelon juice with boba and mango jelly. Its SO delicious I tell you, everyone whose tried it has not regretted it ;] I wouldn't recommend the milk teas though as they're awful here.

Tea Station- San Diego, Ca

I truly believe these are my favorite tea station locations that I've ever been to. They have two locations, one in Mira Mesa and another on Clairemont Mesa Blvd but they're both VERY good. However if you are visiting I would suggest stopping by the Clairemont location because Convoy St. is right around the corner- where lots of delicious cheap Asian food awaits you. Milk teas are the highlight here, and so are their jelly ice drinks (if you don't like tea) that are flavorful slushees mixed with pieces of fruity jell-o throughout :)

So there you go! I hope you guys enjoy :)

But in any place that I mention the milk teas are great- I seriously suggest trying Royal Milk Tea if it's an option. It's my favorite because it's so sweet and flavorful =]

Also, many of the tea houses do have great slushees and green teas, but I personally like to make the focus milk teas since they are more traditional (and in my opinion delicious ;] ) but tweet at me if you ever have any questions and I'll be glad to answer! Making it Work.

Helllooo :)

So I haven't blogged in awhile eh :)? Haha! As I've said I've just been swamped with school. I wish I could show you guys cool pictures of the things I'm doing and places I'm going but thats just not going to happen again until winter break LOL so I decided to do my favorite kind of blog posts: the type where I don't talk about anything and just babble HAHAHAA. I really should be studying more, but I've been studying my butt off and aced my last final so I'm in a particularly unfocused mood LOL.

Okay well I guess I'm going to talk about something :). For those of you that don't know I'm currently in a long distance relationship. The reason why I bring this up is because once people found out (I showed him a bit on BTV too ^^) it sparked a flurry of questions: the prevailing one of which is, "How do you make it work?" Like many of you ladies, my boo is not a hop and skip away. He is not even simply across the country...in fact the only way he could be farther from me and still in the States is if he lived in Maine LOL. We did the math before, and there's a little under 3,000 miles separating the two of us. It sucks, it's not drivable, and its not a trip you can make impromptu on a whim :/ [Unless you don't work or go to school] which most of you probably do one or the other if not both. Yes you may be able to make a surprise trip, but how many times a year would that really be realistic? Now i'm not complaining about my relationship, I know it could be a lot worse. In fact I have never been happier in my life :) I wouldn't have it any other way...but it's definitely hard despite having the luxury of technology. My coworker went away to volunteer in Brazil once and had no internet or telephone service for 6 months. She couldn't correspond with her boyfriend except for letters...Imagine that! But here are my tips for making your long distance relationship work:

1. Realize that distance isn't everything. Just because someone lives close to you, does that mean you'll stay with them? NOPE. So distance doesn't need to break you either. If you don't like someone enough to make it work long distance and would rather be with someone else, then you don't like them enough anyways. Be with someone else and spare each other the grief.

2. Trust each other. Now this one's a toughie. I know a LOT of people have trust issues with their significant other. Multiply the miles between you...and that's a whole lot of grey area for distrust to build LOL. Because let's be real now, you could both be doing doing a whole lot of shady business-and getting away with it.

Now I've never been a jealous person so it's kinda hard for me to relate to this...I've never been jealous except when I had reason to be. I can count the amount of times I've been jealous on one hand, and each time I was it was ALWAYS based on a hunch I had that turned out to be true (this was many years ago though). It's crazy what your intuition and sub-conscious knows about you and the people around you. Generally speaking though I'm never ever jealous. Why? Because I think being jealous is incredibly unhealthy. I feel as if 90% of the fights in relationships stem from jealousy. A lot of people argue that fights make you learn more about each other and I agree, but only to an extent. Significant fights can bring you closer together and make you learn more about one another...but dumb fights (lets be real) just piss you off. If you want your s.o. to trust you, you have to do the same. And if you can't trust them then...why are you dating them again? o_O I always give people the benefit of the doubt until they give me reason to do otherwise. So if you don't have a reason past, "OMG A GIRL JUST COMMENTED ON HIS FB WALL", trust him/her.

Oh yeah. And being insecure is annoying. Next!

3. Make time for each other. Now you can do this in a lot of ways...texting, phone calls, skype, letters etc. We live in a technological world now, and it's easy to find ways to make each other a part of each other's lives. We skype or talk on the phone every single night, and it sucks to see their face on a screen or to hear their voice on the phone but it's better than nothing at all. You can even text each other pics of your life: while you're out shopping, what you're having for dinner etc! It's nice to feel kind of included, even if you're not there :] And it's always nice to know that you're being thought of.

For those of you who don't know what Skype is it's a FREE program that is far superior to AIM or MSN video chat. The lag and quality are much better- and its 100% free. You can also use it to make international phone calls for free as well :D You can download it here , all you need is to have a computer and a webcam. If your computers do not come with a webcam pre-installed, there are many great and affordable ones available online :). If one of you doesn't own a computer, I'd HIGHLY suggest investing in a netbook. Almost every one I've ever seen comes with a webcam pre-installed and you can find MANY under 200 dollars that come with 2 year warranties. They're not practical for a school computer (netbooks are tiny laptops with virtually no memory and no CD drive) but they're extremely portable, affordable and they get the job done. Also they're super cute and have great battery life LOL.

4. Visit each other when you can. This one is a no-brainer...but the problem is finding the time and means to do it. I've never had to buy a 400 dollar plane ticket before just to give my boyfriend a hug. Travel time alone I have to spend 8 hours getting there (including getting there early, checking in, waiting to board etc), so it's no day trip and takes a lot of money and saving. So basically I've been doing a whole lot of saving LOL. You'd be surprised how much money you save if you don't go out quite as much. Maybe cut down on going out to dinner or refrain from extra frivolous purchases. If you'd rather get a new pair of shoes than see him, you should probably get the shoes and forget the relationship (they'll last longer LOL). I'm always on the hunt for great travel deals now :) This -ad site has a LOT of great travel deals and it's where I book 90% of the tickets I buy. It's also where I bought my ticket when I missed my flight- a next day ticket home cost me $250 including tax. Thats by no means as cheap as it gets (I've gotten fares as low as 260 including tax round trip to NY) but thats still 240 cheaper than what the airline was trying to charge me for a next day flight. In addition to cheap airfare, they have discounted hotels and car rentals too. Check constantly, as fares can change over 100 dollars in the span of a day. This site usually has GREAT deals, but I always make sure to cross check it with my favorite airline's direct sites just in case. ONCE in awhile...they'll have crazy sales on their personal site that they do not advertise there. You can even go on their sites and sign up for email notifications- they can email you every time they have a sale or when they have a special sale headed to your place of specification.

Generally speaking the discount airfare sites are almost always the cheapest option (Priceline is my FAVORITE...more so than Kayak, Orbitz etc but those are similar!), but when airlines have MAJOR flight sales site-wide [like the one Virgin America just had] those are usually just as good if not a slightly better value. So do your research and check MULTIPLE sites before purchasing! It could save you some serious bucks (which can then be invested in future trips LOL). I don't know about purchasing overseas flights however, but I'm sure there is a similar site to Orbitz/Kayak/Priceline that works with international flights as well.

Even if all you can save is 20-30 dollars a week, it really adds up over time. 30 bucks a week is a lip gloss and cheap dinner...not much sacrifice there. Also I think if you live frugally, ie. eat at home, don't go out as much etc, you'll look a lot better too. There's not many healthy and good-for-you dining options out there (except salad/soup I guess...but I always feel robbed when I buy these things at a restaurant LOL) so you can kill two birds with one stone :D

5. Stay busy. Pick up a hobby, take an extra class or get a part-time job. When you're alone and have nothing to do, that's when it's the worst. This is probably the biggest perk of a LDR- you have a lot of time to do your own thing. And I hate to sound cliche, but it really does make you value each other and the time you get to spend together more. So do something good for you that'll distract you a little bit throughout your day until you get to talk to one another. Maybe start cooking and going to the gym? BOOM! 3 hours less of missing your boo. Haha :)

So yup. Thats it...this was a lot more lengthy than I wanted it to be LOL. But I hope this helps some of you. Yes, it really sucks when you see those couples holding hands everywhere doing "couply" things together, but just know that if it's right one day you can be one of those obnoxious couples as well. And in the case it really is right and "meant to be", you will have plenty of time in the future to be sick of each other's smiley faces :D

East Coastin' :)

So this past weekend from the 17th-21st (originally planned to the 20th but oh well) I was in NYC :) I was so excited. I Haven't gone somewhere strictly for leisure in a very, very, long time. Years probably. But So..I think I'm going to chronicle this somewhat a la xppinkx style. Lots of food pictures! Haha I shot a lot of vid footage because you guys know I'm more of a youtuber than a blogger

Broke my right thumb nail right before take off....Lame. I know. Ive only recently been able to figure out how to grow my nails out...that and I wanted my nails to be perfect/pretty. Clearly a great start to the trip! lol *I'm holding the piece that broke off*

Had a Connecting flight in the ATL airport...Look! They were like mini hotel rooms that had a bed, wireless Internet etc and you could nap or work on your stuff in between flights :) The airport also had trashcans that automatically sorted out and compacted recyclables *fancyfancy*

So then I landed. And he already knew I was hungry so...off to be fed! Lol :) I hadn't eaten all day, and for me that's just not acceptable...I eat 4-5x a day. So I was once again...really really hungry.

Yummmyyy :D You bite inside the dumplings and all this soup and beefy goodness comes out. Its amazing when sprinkled with a little bit of Chinese dark vinegar :) Think Din Tai Fung's Juicy pork dumplings but much much bigger!

Went to Ten Ren's (one of my favorite boba chains) in Flushing...This is kind of when I realized NY and Socal boba are NOT the same. Lol...I'm guessing its just different tastes? In socal we only use those rounded tops if you're getting a slushy drink...but everywhere we went they always use those rounded tops..I'm always paranoid that it'll fall off! haha

That and the tea was different, even from the other Ten Rens I've been to...and the boba isn't as chewy or sweet. Hmm :[ haha So then after this I had a hardcore food coma and compensated for all the sleep I hadn't got. Woke up and then off to dinner :)!

Day 2- Saturday

So all we did was go and eat. We went to Chinatown and had some horrible Chinese food (M cafe or something...his friend rec'd it for late dim sum but it was a total fail LOL) but I actually have a very poor digestive system and had to retire early right as we got to Soho because my stomach was hurting me so badly x.X So I only have pictures from dinner. I have a OOTD video at this restaurant too! Use the bathroom and feel the towels...I remember the first time I went to a Ruth's Chris I wanted to steal all the paper towels. Maybe its my Chinese side *probably* haha but they're seriously amazingly soft and feel like fabric!

So we opted for the prix-fixe menu. Ruth's Chris came out with this...I think three or so years ago? I forget. Maybe 4..regardless ITS SUCH A GOOD DEAL :) They have a 39.99/person and 49.99/person option. You get your choice of starter (soup, salad etc), main course, a personal portion side (which is big enough to share still lol) and dessert. Love love love. Ruth's Chris is one of my FAVORITE steak places, and my favorite chain steakhouse. The steaks are delicious and come out on 400 degree plates (theyll burn you if you touch em!) that keep your steak nice and hot :D

I love hot foods HOT and colds food SUPER cold...Ill re-heat soup 2-3 times when I eat it :x so...Ruths Chris = perfection to me :)

I chose the Cesar's Salad. Nom NOm. I love these :D ill never make them myself though because store-bought dressings are never as good as the restaurant's I feel. And they're so bad for you anyways. haha

My filet mignon with shrimp on top...delicious. Drooling right now thinking about it! Medium rare...just how I like it :D With a side of mashed potatoes (which I also highly recommend...thats what I always eat here with my steals :) )

A petit flan for dessert! So delicious..and I usually dont like flan LOL. But it was so yummy, eat the fruit with it at the same time and it's heaven.

Day 3- Sunday

So sad :[ My supposed-to be last day. On the way to Soho..finally snagged a pic of all those go-kart police carts. Seriously. Id feel less than hardcore with this...o_O But they look fun to drive...hmm...lol

Anyways we got tired of driving around 3+ hours looking for parking, this is kinda when I gave up and was down for public transportation and parked his car at one of those pay parking structures (which amazes me how necessary these are in NY..and expensive x.X) . Secretly Im kind of afraid of it...I just hear a lot of horror stories. And I've never been on the NY subways but after I went on I LOVED it. Because its so freakin efficient! It was my most productive day because we wouldn't spend hours looking for parking :) excellent

I got a spicy tuna roll *my faveee!* and a salmon cucumber roll..Thought the salmon was a bit slimy and the spicy tuna kind of underwhelming but oh well. Edible..but forgettable

So We were supposed to eat Dinner at Ippudo after a long day of shopping..but the wait was NINETY MINUTES. Holy cow...But tiffany said it was bomb so we decided to run over to St Marks which was nearby for some boba... bubble tea to you east coasters! lol

Probably my favorite boba all weekend :) But Im not gunna lie...I prefer socal boba. Lol..Its just different. In all fairness i'm sure you guys find our boba too sweet and too soft/chewy...hmm. Ill have to ask him when he visits lol :) Make him try it. I almost always get milk tea with boba if its a new place since I feel like milk tea is the staple.

Tried the spicy pork buns...Its essentially a saucy savory pork slice with some lettuce and a large Chinese Peking Duck bun around it. 8 Dollars for two. Kinda expensive but it was good...but I couldnt help but feel like it was a bootleg version of peking duck! But it WAS yummy...not totally worth it but i'd prob get it again if I went -_- because I like the novelty of things...they had this sliced cucumber with vinagrette drizzled over it that was popular too...Imma get that one next time! :x

I got the Akamaru ramen (since thats another of the highly praised items) it was REALLY good. Way more overpriced than socal ramen (which is good and very cheap) but in all fairness the ambience of this place is nice...and its really hyped up so I guess that kinda helps too. The server was VERY friendly as well :)

The only thing I didn't like about the place...You're seated at these long communal tables. I was next to the wall so I was glad I wasn't sitting next to anyone except the bf but I don't like looking up and seeing someone else facing me 2 ft away...Its just really awkward. However if you have larger groups of 5 ish they do have personal booths which is nice :)

Mmm Green Tea ice cream for dessert! My favorite :) I love green tea ice cream from japanese places, I always get it :x Small touches like cute little spoons make me happy too...*shrugs*

It WAS good but I do think it is a bit overhyped. I'd still probably go back since it was one of the better places we went to all weekend =] I think I just kind of realized at this point socal/east coast don't have the same tastes in food.

The lashes I bought at the Face Shop I wore the whole weekend. I REALLY loved these :) I had originally planned to do a smokey eye everyday (who else am I going to get done up for?) rather than the normal liner...but girls in the East Coast just dont wear much makeup. So I ditched the idea and kept it how I normally do. But wore these too :) I really really did like these.
Bath bombs! Sigh...gave in to the lush mania..

The Face Shop haulage...Two sets of lashes (the shisem ones are TDF ;_;) face masks, pore strips and those pimple healers that pam got. Which I pretty much had the same results with, it helps enough with inflammation to keep them around. :) I HATED the vita K mask...made my face seriously burn and it was HUGE. Horrible fitting.

I had really wanted to get dim sum all weekend...it's a cute cantonese thing to do lol :) It was really good actually. Mmm..tea is healing. Chrysanthemum is my favorite since it doesn't get bitter like how Jasmine tends to because it's made with flowers and not tea leaves

I was fascinated by this...sriracha and hot mustard. o_O Now when you eat dim sum you generally get hot mustard and chinese chili paste/oil stuff...but not sriracha! haha kind of made me laugh...is this an East Coast thing as well or not?

They had a whole station where they had baskets of fresh chinese vegetables waiting to be cooked MM! Chinese broccoli is my personal favorite :) with some oyster sauce...*dies*

So here is supposed to be the end of it all. Long story short..Delta really screwed up that day. I couldn't print my ticket at the kiosk and there were only two tellers working for a 100+ people line. One teller didn't help anyone in the 3 hours I was waiting there because one large family was trying to fly together (parents + seven kids...seven o_o) so it was really only one teller. EVERYONE in line missed their flights. They made me miss my flight, miss the standby and were trying to get me to pay almost 500 dollars for a new ticket. So I cursed a bit sucked it up and went back to hang out with the boo to search up other options. I ended up choosing an American Airlines flight for the next day at a much more reasonable price.

Why I like animals more than people

Im not going to lie, if you havent noticed: I'd rather have pets than friends. Not to say I dont have friends LOL but animals have never let me down. Your dog, cat, bird whatever...will love you regardless of how you look, how much money you have, or how much you can give them, and all they ask in return is love. ON the rare occasion they DONT like you (which...come on happens sometimes) they wont pretend they like you when they dont, they wont tell the other dogs how much they dislike you and theyll (generally speaking) leave you alone if you do the same.

Now today is 9/11, I know everyone's been talking about that. I remember how young I was..I think I was in 8th grade at the time? We were in Math for gifted students (yea, I was a lowkey nerd. Did I tell you I got a 4.6 in high school at one point?) and we were watching the news when the towers came down and all those lives were lost. My teacher said to us that that day would change the rest of our lives.

The craziest story I heard was from one man who I was lucky enough to meet who had worked at around the 71st level of one of the towers. He was completely blind, and went to work everyday with his seeing eye dog named Dorado. When the planes crashed and people were running past, he knew that he had very little chance of survival so he let his dog go and ordered him to leave, hoping that he would save himself. Dorado stayed by his side nudging his hand and grabbed his sleeve and walked him down 71 flights of stairs and he survived (they were a hundred yards from the towers when they collapsed). Funnily enough, Dorado wasn't alone. I discovered there were TWO dog heros that day, Roselle and her owner who worked the 78th floor also reached safety. I've always thought animals we're so much smarter than people thought them to be. They always understand when youre sad, and somehow they always know how to make you feel better. I feel so lame saying this, but how many people do you know with such a pure and selfless heart?

Its just depressing how much negativity there is in the world these days. My friend mike said to me, "Man, girls could rule the world if they weren't so busy tearing each other down all the time" and I completely agree. Haven't you heard about the pastor from florida who wanted to burn the Qu'ran? HELLOOOO dumb dumb. Religions aren't full of hate, people are. You hear so much talk about war and people dying...it all seems so archaic and unreal. Its amazing to think that we can make planes fly in the air, live in outer space and perform open heart surgery but we cant find a peaceful resolution to our problems and differences.

Okay..thats it. Enough rantage, I just wanted to take a bit of time to remember all those lives lost that day and families that were affected. Its sad to think that after everything thats happened nothing has changed. Im actually visiting NY myself soon...its my first real vacation in years. The last time I went to NY I got bit by a wild squirrel in the middle of central park and spent the weekend in the ER getting rabies shots. I was trying to save it because I thought it was hurt...my 8 year olf self was capable of such things y'know LOL. To make matters worse, I knew once it happened I was in big doodoo so I tried to rinse away the blood so my mom wouldnt see it with a big dirty puddle of water on the floor (Imagine my chinese mom seeing blood gushing out of a wound on my finger and me futilely trying to rinse it away with NY dirty puddle water...hahahha) . LMFAO ahh...the good ol' days. So if you guys could recommend any great restaurants or shopping/scenic spots to hit up id greatly appreciate it.

But upon experimenting more today it made me remember why I never switch up my eyeshadow-its because it makes my eyes uglier when theyre open. Le sigh. Theres a fine line between being constructive and being critical- Just sayin'.

So here is another popular topic! Since I probably won't be doing anything exciting until my NYC trip, maybe I could just rip up more controversial topics har har har. So on youtube one of the things I notice most commonly is what I *hope* is simply misunderstanding between "beauty gurus" (I use this term lightly...I just think its weird IDK) and their subscribers. Lots of harsh, brash words are exchanged throughout the comments section of videos. Basically, at the end of it they both think each others a bitch LOL.

Most of this results from comments that the viewers (and Im going to assume they're just trying to be constructive) say to the youtuber, which sparks the harsh confrontation. I can think of some about myself that are common: my hair flip (sorry its not going away deal with it haha) the rate at which I speak, and most recently, the auto-play of music on my blog LOL.

Who posted the comments (2 people for you nosier folks) is irrelevant but basically it was just said that auto play music is annoying buahaha. I'm not upset or trying to call people out which is why I deleted the comments before posting this: you know if I was i'm the type to do it explicitly, but it was a good opportunity to start on this post which I've been meaning to do for awhile

So coming from my (a youtuber's) perspective:

This is what itches my butt about it: youtube is a service, not only that Youtube is a FREE service. In the case of my blog: its MY blog. Its going to reflect me, and in all honesty id rather make videos because blogspot is a pain in the butt BUT I maintain my blog for two reasons: 1. because I want my viewers to see that i'm not a dim-witted air headed biatch and I can talk about things completely unrelated to makeup/beauty. And two, I can have product information on here that would be difficult to do a video on (like that Shiseido pureness post). That post took me almost 2-3 hours (okay I was watching TV too >.<) to complete, it takes two seconds to turn off the music on someone's blog. It kind of felt like a slap in the face after all that work I put in to it. I really get a LOOTT of questions about the pureness line, and I thought I was going out of my way talking about something I didnt even use anymore (had to go back find prices, names etc) and you cant just turn the music off my blog x.X? I, for one, clearly like the music on my blog :) harhar Its one of the only redeeming qualities to me about blogspot honestly (which btw is annoying as FACK to upload to) I cant include music in my videos due to copyright issues; so that is why I insist on my music here. Even in my myspace and xanga days, I always had music on my page.

I can't stand plenty of peoples music on their blogspots LOL but its their blogspot, so if i want the info on the page they have to offer, turning off some music isn't a huge inconvenience I think. Thats how I feel about everyone's mannerisms, music etc. If I want the information they have to offer, Ill watch their videos, listen to their music, ignore their "ummmss" ...and suck it up. Because im getting that information and entertainment for free, and if its too much to handle, theres always that [x] box at the top of the right hand of any window (it works, and its satisfying, you leave that page darn it! Go you LOL).

Now on the side of the viewer:

Now this kinda deals with the "hater" post but its a little bit different! I know not everyone that posts is trying to attack you, a lot of times they REALLY think their suggestions would improve the quality of your product (be it your videos, blog etc) or they're just trying to make what they think to be a harmless observation [common ones are: you look tired, you look different, your skin looks bad, your eye looks weird etc]. but just because were on youtube, doesn't mean we don't have feelings and don't get insecure, and in the midst of mass replying to comments a lot gets lost in translation. And I know sometimes youtubers are too hasty, youtube as I mentioned has been a huge learning experience for me. I try really hard now to calm down when I see a comment that makes me mad, and try to see it from their perspective and REALLY decide if people we're trying to be insulting or not. Because sometimes, people are really just trying to help. But other times... people are just trying to be an ass (come on! you've SEEN some of the awful things people say right?) but just like how I think people on youtube (including myself!) can be too hasty, I do think sometimes comments could be worded better.

"No offense" first off, is always insulting. No offense you look_____ NEVER softens the blow. So don't say it, because obviously it's offensive.

If you think someone looks better another way, you can say "I really like how you look with straight hair :)" not "your hair looks ugly like this"

If you think someone looks tired, you can say "you look like you haven't been sleeping well, are you okay? :[" which makes it clear that you're NOT attacking them and are making a harmless observation. Some people may consider this ass-kissing. But please keep in mind you probably don't know the people you watch/read, so unless you comment often they don't know and generally don't assume that you're honestly concerned, trying to be helpful or curious. We get attacked ALL the time and the pressure to look good and be perfect is CONSTANTLY on us. It definitely comes with the territory, but we get insecure just like anyone else. We're human, we get zits, we get eye bags, we ramble, we're not perfect.

Im not innocent of having never lashed out unnecessarily, but I have been trying to get better. I've definitely mis-interpreted a few comments in my time, and felt pretty bad when I realized I shocked the innocent person commenting (to you guys, sorry if I didn't say it :[ I do try and apologize when Im in the wrong and generally make amends with people, there shouldn't be any recents though.)

So basically my whole point is, I think we should remember why everyone goes on to youtube in the first place-for the love of beauty. I think its just kinda disheartening to see how negative a place youtube has become. Every youtuber was at one point a viewer too, so we've been in those shoes. But I honestly think both youtubers and viewers alike are at fault. Youtubers should not so quickly think we are being attacked, grow some tougher skin and not dwell on it but people who choose to watch our videos should also put our feelings in to consideration.

"But she'd/you/they'd be nothing without us" And I agree, youtubers are just people (just like celebrities are just people) and are nothing without our viewers, but asking someone to change who they are because you (your one person) doesn't enjoy it, honestly doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I'm not saying never offer a friendly suggestion, but just keep in mind theres a fine line between being constructive and being critical. And as a favor to me and others, try to word it in a way that there will be no misinterpretation. Even if I were to change said habits that few (read:the minority) of people find annoying, there are much more people that have an odd fascination with the way I flip my hair, hate slow talkers and who routinely download all the songs they hear on here. My point is, I can't win 'em all, so I don't even bother trying. I've said this many times before, theres just no making everyone happy so its much better to be yourself. If someone really bothers me, I don't watch their videos. Thats it. No drama, no confrontation and I can find other people I like just fine. [If you don't like the way someone is and you continue watching their videos and are upset by it, whose the dumb dumb? No ones forcing you to watch.] And if I should be in the unfortunate situation that no one else has the information I want and then force myself to watch said videos- I suck it up, clench my teeth, and imagine how pleasant it'd be to gauge out my eyeballs to the sound of their voice, excessive "umms" and continue watching.

PS. However I do understand that not everyone likes rnb and apologize for placing my media player on default volume and so far down my page. I have now lowered the default volume (which I just found out you can do btw :D ) and moved my media player to the top right of the page so that the "off" switch is now more conveniently located LOL. Enjoy.

Shiseido's Pureness Line

So you guys know I'm in love with Shiseido skincare :) White lucent is my staple, i'd have a freakin cow if they ever discontinued it, but I get asked a LOT about Pureness which is Shiseido's acne/mattifyiing line. This is completely understandable (1) because im a clear shiseido lover (2) because many of my viewers are teens, helloooo puberty/hormones and acne prone skin :D and (3) I believe of all the Shiseido lines, it is the cheapest and most affordable.

My skin / experience:

I have incredibly oily skin but I've never had severe acne. A few occasional pimples but nothing bad- but keep in the mind the severity of your acne is irrelevant to how a product will work for you. You with a few pimples may find a product awful/useless while your friend with SEVERE acne may be totally cleared up by the same thing, I always stress that skincare is individual-but its always good to hear people's experience because skincare is an expensive gamble.

To answer your questions, YES I have and did use Pureness from the time I was 14-16. If anything in Shiseido sticks out to me as being not worth it, its definitely the Pureness line. You guys know im not crazy about Tsubaki haircare either-but at least MANY people are. Many of my friends have had great results with it- so I still think it has its merits. But with pureness- out of everyone I know that's used this it's pretty universal that this line does little to NOTHING

I no longer have any of these products (for obvious reasons), but I've used most this line. I don't want to do a video on it because I can't imagine how boring it'd be with me talking for [x] amount of minutes straight with no products to show LOL so for those of you that are interested, ill list em all here.

Cleansers: Out of everything from the set, the cleansers were my favorite. Keep in mind though that these cleansers have NO anti-acne properties, they contain no salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. [But even if they did, its generally agreed that acne medication put in to your cleanser is useless since it does not stay on your skin]

Foaming Cleansing Fluid- $21.00

This had a texture similar to Biore's ice cleanser or Neutrogena's fresh foaming cleanser (looks/feels just like it!). It's a creamy milky goopy fluid that foamed when mixed with water. I personally didn't like it because I like a bit of a deeper squeaky-clean feeling after I wash my face. But if you prefer VERY GENTLE cleansers that dont feel stripping then this one is a good choice- think Philosophy's Purity in terms of gentleness. Much like that but a little more foaming.

Deep Cleansing Foam- $21.00

This was my favorite of the two cleansers :) I think because I'm so oily, I prefer a cleanser that gives me a squeaky clean feeling =] So this was my preference. Definitely gives you a deep-down clean, but some people may find it to be too stripping (and a little harsh, it has these little blue microbeads) -you definitely should use a moisturizer after this one because your skin will feel tight.

Refreshing Cleansing Sheets Oil-Free Alcohol-Free $17.00 (30 sheets...only. -_-)

Another of my favorites :) Really light clean and refreshing- but keep in mind wipes are NOT meant to replace regular face-washing! I really loved these, but they're not worth 17 dollars for only 30 sheets, drugstore ones don't do any worse/better of a job so save your money (unless you're a baller and wanna feel sweet with Shiseido face wipes LOL)

Toners / Acne Fighters

Anti- Shine Refreshing Lotion- $23.00

One of the only two acne-targeting products in the entire line. This one was dual-purpose- it's supposed to be mattifying while treating acne with salicylic acid. However- I really, really didnt like it. One because EVERYTHING with mattifying properties in this line contains this weird white powdery stuff, I believe that when it comes to mattifying it is much more sanitary and makes more sense to remove or prevent the oil produced rather than just covering it up with blotting powder. Especially b/c this mattifying powder made me look like I was wearing face make-up when I wasnt. Also, it didnt clear my acne when I did have it. It'd be slightly better, but not gone. Useless. Oh, and id still be freaking oily -_____-' not even mattifying at all*shakes fist* I used this as a toner, and you have to shake it before you use it because that weird powder stuff settles to the bottom.

Blemish Clearing Gel- $19.00

Sucks. Useless. Doesn't even work. Next.

Moisturizers

Matifying Moisturizer Oil-Free $32.00

So this is one of the generally more well-loved items from this set [people are pretty mixed about this one- but still the general consensus is it DOESNT work]. My roomate thinks it helps somewhat, I think it does diddly squat. I dont like the texture of this moisturizer (too watery/runny) and once again its plagued with that white powdery substance they insisted on putting in all their mattifying products. I don't like how it looks, and I don't like how it works. It did nothing for oil control and wasn't even moisturizing. HOWEVER since some (read: very few) people LOVE this moisturizer, i'd pick up a sample at a shiseido counter or sephora store first before jumping to invest in it and if you're lucky, it might work for you. Since like I said, a few people do seem to like it.

Mattifiers

(keep in mind the lotion above is meant to mattify as well)

Matifying Stick Oil-Free $25.00

Hated it. Once again, that weird powder crap! And this stick has a gross gritty consistency- and I imagine its pretty unsanitary to put a creamy stick all over your oil-stricken dirty face. I just don't like any part of it. And it doesn't mattify well. Next.

Oil-Control Blotting Paper - $17.00 (100 sheets)

Another miss. (1) because blotting tissues shouldn't cost almost twenty dollars. Also, I dont think blotting tissues should have more of that weird powder crap. I like taking stuff OFF my face, not caking on weird white powder when its already greasy. And I think the price is dumb. Dumb dumb dumb For blotting tissues. I use cheap 3 dollar asian ones and they work better, are cuter and bigger (i post pics below).

Overall: My favorite part of this line was the cleansers, but whenever I broke out this never ever cleared me up completely. It'd diminish redness and spots by about 50% or so. In addition to the acne-fighting properties being pretty poor, I didn't feel any of the mattifying products did a decent job of mattifying. Added up all these products cost almost 200 dollars. Granted this is on the CHEAP side for Shiseido skincare- but I believe high end products are worth it because they deliver the results they promise. White Lucent is an expensive addiction :x but it works and does what it promises so I think it merits the cost. For 200 dollars, this line does little to nothing, and I think for 200 dollars something out there in the big big world can get you the skin you want. But then again, you cant be surprised. Asian skincare is not a go-to for acne...whitening YES LOL we're obsessed with spots/discoloration/pale skin but acne...not so much. A lot of my friends have only good things to say about dermalogica, its expensive no doubt. But i think its worthwhile because i've literally not heard a single bad review. For pureness, i've heard ONE SINGLE good review. So don't do it, don't bother, save your money and try something else.

[In case you don't know, I use Proactiv, but my friends have had good success with Murad as well]

But since I brought it up, my favorite blotting tissues:

I buy all my blotting tissues now at Mitsuwa or Marukai :D you can yelp for a

japanese grocery store' near you, try to go to the biggest one =] youll have more selection if the stores bigger. I have no loyalty to specific ones..I just grab whatever and make sure it has no oil-absorbing powders- which you guys can tell by now I dont like LOL.

But I like the japanese ones because they're more affordable, cuter, and bigger (which my oily forehead/cheeks/chin appreciates)

These are the ones i'm using now, but like I said I have no preference

Notice the fobby english LOL. But they were around 3.50 for 80 sheets :) Much larger and more affordable, no weird powder stuff. I really love blotting tissues because since I don't regularly wear any face makeup, my face gets oily within less than an hour. These are a life-saver

BTW I don't read japanese either so don't worry if you don't! The general words above all these products on the price display is usually "Oil-off paper" LOL so its pretty self-explanatory. They also have these in some SUPER cute packaging with mirrors and everything, but they're all cheaper than the american DS brands even, let alone the high-end ones. I do enjoy high-end blotting tissues just so i can feel fancy sometimes HAHA but I always lose em, so there's just no point.

Oh shoot. and one more thing, the highly requested back of the head shot for those of you who'd like to show it to your hairdresser to achieve a similar style [you can click the pic to blow it up as well]

I dont blog much, because frankly I dont have very much to share LOL and I dont take many pictures and I want you guys to have something to look at. Also I've been really busy with work, but my work just ended (its seasonal, and I work at a non-profit so they cant afford to staff me all the time) so now I have more time to upload/record until I go back to school :) let me tell you guys...blogging is def. a labor of love haha!

So if you guys watch my vids, then you know I went to FAP 2.0 a few weekends ago. FAP stands for Feature Accoustic Playlist, it was a benefit concert held in San Diego, Ca supporting the children's hunger fund and was thrown by youtubers and BTV fam. Since a lot of people flew in from out of the state and even out of the country, there was a bonfire the day before at the beach for everyone to hang out, be relaxed and get to know each other a bit before the actual event.

Haha but we were all famished so we just ate. There were people karoke-ing in the other room, and I have to say-it was the first time I head karaoke and didnt wanna kill myself LOL. [All the artists that performed were in there...and uhh yea if you didnt like making a fool of yourself singing already, try doing that next to passion. YUP not gunna happen]

And next...now that i'm not working I have lots of time to do my two favorite things: Shop and eat! LOL i'm obsessed with Asian candies, and just wanted to show you guys what I've been munching on lately

Japanese Hard watermelon candies! Theyre flavored like normal watermelon, yellow watermelon and some weird hybrid one haha I really like it :) Very light tasting, im not big in to anything creamy because sometimes it makes me nauseous x.X I love light refreshing candies

Korean Hard Plum Candies! These are some of my favoriteee asian candies. They're shaped like little balls and taste like a sweet plum asian jolly rancher LOL. They even have a cute pink stripe on them! Best of all, they're 99 cents a bag- my cheap asian side can't resist. You can buy these at any zion and im sure other korean markets would have them as well.

Green Tea Japanese Marshmellows :) Didnt taste as good as I wanted them to though, the green tea flavor was really mellow, but the marshmellows were really soft. Dont think i'd buy em again, the whole marshmellow with soft jelly inside definetly works better with fruit flavors LOL (They have these strawberry hello kitty ones that are amazing).

My free iphone 4 case came in :) Prior to it coming, I really wasnt a fan of the iphone. IDK...it just was okay. But this case is SO nice...it fits so nicely :] much better than iphone3 cases! Apple had an app to order it too [and you could pick which you wanted] which I thought was pretty cool haha. And when I heard they were giving out free cases, I thought they'd be some cheap made in china ish, but its an incase (I remember paying about 30 for my case for my old phone?) But now I love it! Seemed liked the finishing touch Idk but I finally fully enjoy my phone now. You cant even see the case yea? Super nice, I think mine was in 'smoke' but there was about 7 diff options and the app let you see the cases that were available from different angles as well. Took me about 6 weeks to get it though x.X buts its free and beggers cant be choosers

Oh and also, im still freakin obsessed with that ELF gloss 'bubblegum' from their back to school collection. Never ever have I loved a drugstore product, in fact the only ones I've ever tried were the loreal lineur intense, and my friends hard candy blush (and elf blotting tissues but thats not m/u haha) but I tweeted this photo right after I opened it

Its the prettiest baby milky pink (its not as pink as it showed up in this picture). Its sheer with one coat, but gob it on (2 layers) and its totally opaque. I think I have like 8 or something right now-I went back and bought every single one! HAHA im kinda sad that the first drugstore product I ever loved is just temporary (so try it if you havent!) but it definitely kinda makes me optimistic about DS makeup in the future. Im seriously sad that they aren't keeping this around though *shakes fist at ELF* you guys are dumb! keep it...seriously :[ please? But in the meantime...at 1 dollar each, I dont mind stocking up :)

For those of you that don't follow me on my FB page (yes..i finally did it x.x haha) then heres some swatches I did. Left is bubblegum andis Nars' Turkish Delight-the cult favorite! But for most people, turkish delight is unwearable by itself and usually worn over another lip color-bubblegum is the first of ANY gloss i used that I LOVED wearing with just eyeliner and blush (in the above pic). The only time I wear lip products is to balance out heavier makeup, but this was the first time I ever felt it looked pretty by itself. Obsessed. Literally.

hater- A person that simply cannot be happy for another person's success. So rather than be happy they make a point of exposing a flaw in that person. Hating, the result of being a hater, is not exactly jealousy. The hater doesnt really want to be the person he or she hates, rather the hater wants to knock somelse down a notch.

One of the MOST common messages I get, is "how do you deal with haters". The truth is, you just have to. Its a part of life, not just youtube, or the internet. The internet is just a new platform for gossip because now people can not only talk smack, they can do it behind the anonymity of a computer screen. At some point in your life, someone will say something mean about you. It may be true, or it may be completely fabricated, but it'll happen. And lets just be honest here, girls are haters. The only people who have never had anything bad said about them are people that are absolutely underwhelming. YES putting yourself on youtube puts you "out there", but it doesn't mean you're ASKING for it. Thats like saying someone who dresses seductively is ASKING to be raped. People go on youtube for the love of beauty, and because they have something they wanted to share, not because they think theyre hot shit and want "omg youre so pretty!" comments.

If you want to go on YT, do it. But i'm telling you right now, as a life lesson, you cant and NEVER will make everyone happy. Someone will ALWAYS not like you. They wont like how you speak, how you dress, what you look like, or what you have to offer. People will ask you for hauls, others will say its bragging. You may only do neutral looks, and people will tell you "all your looks look the same" or you may love bright bold beautiful colorful makeup and then others will say your makeup is hideous and not wearable. You may cuss a lot, and people will say you have no class. Or you may be totally reserved and conservative, and people will call you monotone, boring and distant. So expect it, and the bigger you are, expect more. But just know you will never make everyone happy, so be you and I promise someone out there will love it, or even, a whole lot of people. The WORST thing you can do is let them get to you and stop shining, because not only are you losing (not reaching your goals/being the best you can be) you're letting them win. So the best thing you can do is keep being you and be DAMN good at it.

So recently, I commented to this girl on my friends page who could seriously not leave her alone. Day after day hour after hour she sat by her computer responding to her sub's comments over and over insulting her. Now I have a pretty pissy temper, Imma be real. My short temper is one of my BIGGEST FAULTS, but i've been trying HARD to work on it. And, I thought I was being pretty civil to her and wrote back

Now theres NO POINT in arguing with a "hater", cause the truth is, most haters think their hate for you is completely legitimate so angrily arguing back and calling them a hater wont do anything. Theyre NOT always necessarily jealous of YOU, but they recognize that you receive attention and frankly, it pisses them off because they think its completely unmerited. So they'll publicly try to devalue you in any way they can because they ARE jealous of the attention you receive. If you have great breasts, they'll say you wear a pushup/have implants. Or you may be pretty, but nope, you're a cakeface. Or you may recieve a lot of male attention, so clearly then, you're a slut. Just dont bother arguing with them, because they will never admit youre right even when theyre blatantly wrong.

Now if youre male its a bit different. If they hate you, you then must have one of the following: a small penis or be a in the closet homosexual (choice of word is usually "faggot", idk why guys get so insulted by this BUT THEY DO). But im not a dude so i'm not getting in to that

But this girl has essentially now focused her efforts on me and not my friend and for the past few days been religiously watching my channel for HOURS (time stamps prove it), responding to my viewer's comments insulting me, and leaving message after message on my blog. The first one I deleted because I didn't make the initial connection b/w the first blog comment (that told me I had the ugliest/smallest asian eyes ever...literally the first time anyone told me I had small eyes haha) and I never give people like that the time of day. It in all honesty it makes me fuzzy inside when someone goes SO FAR out of their way to insult you over and over. Because this is the thing about haters: theyre your BIGGEST fans. No matter how much a sub may like you, they wont watch and comment you for hours. Nor will they tell EVERYONE with a willing ear over and over again how much they love you, but a hater will, hell they'll even make youtube and blog accts for the sole purpose of commenting your videos and posts.

So she then proceeded to post more comments after I deleted that one, and it kinda all hit me there, this was the SAME person from my friends fb fan page AND my yt account. It just never occurred to me that someone who goes to a good school could be SO FAR off their rocker- so it took awhile to connect the dots, especially because I never even responded to them so I didn't see how I could piss them off so badly.

CLEARLY grasping for straws, but to clarify for my readers: I dont go to a CSU, im in the SAME system as her so idk where that came from. Secondly i'm in a lucrative major (that she doesnt know) and regardless the Cal state system is great. Education is great, no matter where you get it from or what institution.

California has some of the BEST public higher education available and I commend ANYONE who pursues it. Also...LOL I will be the FIRST person to tell you I dont have big boobs! But I have a great butt which is even better in my book! =] It looks GREAT in jeans, skirts and dresses. I also don't mind that i'm short, and neither do my bf's who are consistently 6ft tall. Im no makeup artist, but I know what looks good on me which is why its either just liner or a smokey eye :) (the whole fake the crease/dark outer v on me thing looks eh) theres a lot of amazing makeup tutorials on youtube, which is why I stray from doing tutorials even though I am constantly asked, its just not what I came on to youtube to do. But when I think I have something valuable to share, id like to share it. And once in awhile Ill show you how I do something, because even though its not super professional, it works and someone out there liked it and asked me to. Im not perfect, and I will never ever say that I am.

But to the REAL point of this post, as I mentioned I generally don't respond to "haters", but since you want my attention AND a response, you got it babe :) Since youve spent the last few days and countless hours of your life messaging me with no response, its the least that I can do.

I dont respond to you because frankly, you're just not worth my time. Not only can I stick up for myself just fine, I also don't need a fake account to do it and can use my REAL name on my blog, youtube AND facebook.

Hellloooo Macbook Pro. You are so shiny *caress* LOL

So Ive been doing a whole lotta random blog tvs, haha and many have been yelling at me to update this thing. So update it is! I've been so busy, and with work every day for long hours its been really hard to get everything done that I want to get done. Im trying to do research on lighting systems so I can film videos without relying on natural light, but I really am a noob at this stuff. I dont even know how to photoshop a photo or edit a video! LOL let alone know how lighting works -_- youtube has definitely been a learning experience haha

I was really surprised so many people read this thing, mainly cause no one comments! Well hardly anyone, I think I get about 1000 hits everyday (from looking at the stats) but then I thought about it and I dont comment on any of the blogs I read too haha.

But I guess blogs is where we get personal right? So anyways, its been a super expensive month. Summer is generally where I go all out and shop and get everything I want, but this summer Ive had to buy a new phone, camera and laptop (got a macbook pro so i could edit in imovie and gave up pretty quickly) lol. I broke my camera, lost my phone, and my laptop's keyboard had been broken for awhile, amongst many other things. Im an official Dell hater! It makes me sad ;_; but I figure it's a better investment than a purse anyways. I really cant film with my webcam as you guys saw in my horrible quality video that i posted a few days ago

iphone 4! I remember when I took this photo i thought PSHHH this aint 8 megapixels...and then I realized it still had the plastic protective screen it comes with on the back -_- cheap ass fail. haha But since ive removed it ive dropped it like ten times :/ I just dont think its that cool. A lottt like my old 3G, except with facetime and a camera on the front, which IS good for cam whoring not gunna lie haha but facetime is useless! You have to have wifi, in which case ur prob home so u should just use your laptop anyway so you dont have to hold out a phone 5 inches from your face. I wish I had a lot of exciting things to tell you, but honestly I dont LOL. During summers Im a straight workaholic. I work everyday come home, shoot, or sleep. Im a total homebody! I go out...maybe once a month now? pitiful huh. haha but work hard now play later :) and honestly after work I have no energy to go anywhere anyways, Im always so exhausted. But ive been shooting a lot of footage at work, if you saw my pic of geoffrey I posted a few days ago on twitter (twitter.com/mszjackiechu) hes an idea of what that video will kinda be like lol

So every year at Huntington Beach Bruce has his annual bonfire. And I didnt get any good photos of him (were both super not photogenic) but I did get some cute video footage! haha look forward to it in my about me video. Im Making a FAQ video in hopes itll lessen my inbox load. I always get asked the same things over and over so much I put them on my front page, but im hoping if its in a video people cant ignore it. haha

Oh, and I went out with my family haha. To one of our favveee chinese restaurants. I decided to go (even though I was the only one under 50 there) just because college made me appreciate bomb chinese food :) almost no one in my family cooks they go out often, and they always get the same stuff. One of my favooorriittesss is steamed black cod

but at $20+ bucks a pound, so overpriced! haha isnt that weird how perspective is? How we allocate different amounts of money to different things? I mean I love nice stuff, but for some reason I wouldnt want to dish out 120 for a stupid fish

even though it is really good LOL. Im also crazy about abalone and sharks fin soup, but the guilt in eating it is staring to get to me and I havent had it in awhile -_- (but I do love soups in general, winter melon is one of my FAVES. I only like clear-brothed soup) I could LIVE off soup :)

You know another thing I don't understand, is why I get so many questions about health and weight from girls that want to loose weight. As mentioned, I grew up in a family where the girls are overweight, but it never occurred to me I guess how prevalent it is (or why ive become the go-to for such questions). And so many girls continue to ask me how to lose weight, like theres some magical mystical formula to it, but I really dont think there is. I think the biggest thing people lack is motivation. And (in the case of my family) sometimes you dont know what itll take to motivate you. A lot of people make excuses (Im self conscious, I cant afford the gym, I dont know what to eat) but I think thats all it is, excuses. A lot of people that HAVE reacted negatively to my videos go "oh youre probably just naturally skinny you dont know how it is" umm, earth to you. The only time i'm NOT on my feet is when i'm sleeping. I've never been one to be idle. I really do think its all just common sense, and most my clothes is form fitting and I like feeling good about my body, so I always cut back when I feel like i'm gaining weight and never let myself stray far from when I like being. Thats the hard part too-maintanence. Once again, no weight loss is permanent unless you maintain it.

Its not like I'm bothered by it (okay maybe I am a little -____-') but Its mostly because I feel like the majority of the messages I receive are from people seeking the easy way out, something OTHER than sacrificing the things they like or exercising-but the truth is that theres no easy way out. I actually had a pretty rough fight with my sister this morning where I tried to encourage her nicely to lose weight with my mom (who, btw are both significantly overweight, both are shorter than me and weigh 40-60 pounds more) and she got incredibly defensive and upset. Some of my coworkers have had really good success with weight-watchers recently, and I was hoping maybe itd work for them since theyre so adverse to working out or walking. They both dont work and my sister is no longer in school, so I feel like maybe a little obsessing will be good for them- give them some purpose/something to focus on. Idk. I was just trying to help, I just don't know what its going to take to make them change, so if you guys have any stories/ideas about how your traditional asian parents lost some weight, im all ears. My mom's been in really poor health too. Like I mentioned before, beside superficial reasons, my family's history of poor health/ disease brought on by weight has been a huge encouragement to take care of myself.

So Ive been meaning to do this for awhile, and I feel like a horrible friend for not doing so earlier LOL but heres my entry for Steph's 2010 DSK Jewelry Model Search =]

I never thought to enter because quite frankly I just cant take cool pictures of myself but hell LOL Stefs been threatening me (and I secretly wanted to too) hehe so Im going to slap on a bunch of makeup and take some flicks. Hii everybody!! I know long time no talk right? But I got asked today to update this thing so I'm going to try but warning this might be boring LOL. So I just came back from the most amazing first blog tv experience ever. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who showed up, especially Ms. Hollyannaeree and Bubzbeauty- I was totally shocked. Especially because I had only met Bubz very recently- but it was so much fun interacting with everyone together. I watched both these girls before I started doing youtube myself, so it was definitely humbling to have them there with me. Their support (and my viewers) was seriously overwhelming. To be honest, I never really took youtube seriously until a few months ago because I never thought itd really go anywhere- But im excited for what the future holds and I feel so blessed to have the opportunities I am given. I was having a really crappy day too, but it just reminded me of how lucky and fortunate I am and my heart feels giddy=] haha okay I feel dumb now. But seriously I never thought that it could be what it is now, and I promise Im going to put more in to it and get more videos up from now on =]

Anyways I feel like you guys deserve a pic update of whats been going on the past few months. In the beginning of the quarter I was driving my friend's car to LA since we were staying at her place and she didnt want to drive, basically some jackass almost hit this girl in front of us by not looking when he tried to merge, he ended up tapping her anyway and she swerved and her car was stuck under a semi and dragged. it was one of the craziest experiences of my life and i had to slow down to not hit her and started honking my horn so people behind us wouldnt rear end us. She ended up being totally okay. But I took this pic of her car- shes crazy lucky she came out of it with just some scratches. But...it was a good reminder of how short life is, and how often we take it for granted

Hehe my friend adopted a pitbull puppy and asked me to go with him to pick it up because my apartment was kinda nearby, it slept in my lap the whole way back =D i was in love. haha

I went on my first trip to the bay area for a convention and went clubbing at night. This was our first night out, it was sooo much fun. It was great seeing old friends again =] Even if the club was MAD hot. haha like steamy hot. It was disgusting. It wasa crazy first norcal trip though-ive only been once but it was with my mom and sister on one of those AZN chinese tours and we didnt get to explore at all. Super whack. So it was fun to be with people my age who I love =]

After finals I was asked to a frat formals which is essentially, sorority/frat prom LOL. So pictures from the night it was at a super pretty hotel by Sea world which was pretty spiffy, and I was just fascinated with the pool and restaurant

This past weekend I went to the fair for the first time in 4 or so years LOL. It was surprisingly fun, and I went on my FIRST real LEGIT ride in my life. Im scared to death of rides because I always feel like im gunna die and theyre gunna break because any ride in general freaks me out.My eyes were tearing at many points LOL but it was pretty fun...once I got off and realized I was OK and not going to die. Hahahaha

FINALS WEEK,
SHOOT ME PLEASE :[

Thankfully, the only test final I have is an easy one- a gen ed class. For those of you that arent in the UC/state school system in california, budget cuts are ridiculous. You're paying 25% more for classes, but you're getting none of the classes you want/need, so a lot of my friends that were on track to graduate aren't anymore. But my class schedule was pretty nice this quarter, and the only other finals I have are essay finals so Im not too stressed.

And I would have you guys know :) that I am an EXCELLENT writer. I write essays for people all the time- and if I try on an essay, I'll get an A. I think its because I loved to read as a kid and Id beg my mom to buy me Charles Dickens and read it for fun in 7th grade sick kid, i know. Looking back on it now though, I think it gave me a great vocabulary and I'll definitely make my kids read as well. Its unfortunate though that I'm also a HORRIBLE procrastinator, and since the essay wasn't due for awhile (and I did get some of it done last night) the only thing I really completed was my nails LOL. Oh. And my YT partner banners but they're super ugly and crappy but I dont mind because graphic design is NOT my ish and i've never used photoshop in my life...So I couldnt use it even if I wanted.

kinda boo boo-d on the thumb, but thats okay no biggie! Lol. Ive never been one to visit nail salons just because 1. I think theyre dirty and 2. I have WAY better things to spend 60 freaking bucks on. Especially because I don't baby my nails, so they chip within a day or three at most. Ive had gels before, and I really like them except my nails grow crazy fast like my hair and I don't like the damage it does to your nails, it took me 4 months to grow it all out and it looked pretty gross in the process. But im starting to get in to doing my nails again since I'm not working (I cant during the summers, there's no way) but I don't want to.... just one more thing to spend money on and waste time on lol > <
Oh and the other week I hung out with BRUCE :) you guys may remember him from my room tour vid. We seriously go WAY WAY WAY back, think when I was 13. Years ago. We actually havent hung out in almost a year and a half D: Since hes been in school in norcal, it feels like we're always on opposite ends of California. Id be working or he'd have school but idk, our schedules just could never match up until recently he came home and the next day I met up with him :) (he doesnt live near me, but he's still in SOcal) Despite the length of time that we hadn't seen each other, it always feel like nothings changed. We still kept in contact of course in between! But we've seriously both been so busy
And to all those people that say we make a cute couple
NEVER EVER SAY THAT AGAIN D: gosh thats so disgusting. Hahhaa but we get that from complete strangers when we're just hanging out all the time. Its super akward, cause he's more like the brother that Ive never had than anything...And one of my dearest friends :) I think its the darkest moments in your life where you realize who your closest friends are, and nothing, not even time or distance will change the bond you guys have. Bruce and I have a lot of memories together, but a lot of them were sad. We bonded because we were going through a lot of the same stuff *wompwomp*

This bastard PUSHED my chair over and was talking all loud and obnoxious to his friend as he did it. I HATE rude people. Its one of my biggest peeves. That and he looked like such a meat head wannabe asian guido. I was about to say something pretty rude to him but then I got an idea so I told Christine (the girl from my history video) to take a picture so I could show you guys. Hahha isn't that what an asian guido would look like? You guys watched Jersey Shore right? I love trash tv haha

Geo Angel Grey [ Candy Lens.com ]

Surprisingly enough, I actually liked these a lot more than the honey wings. The grey isnt as apparent in real life as it is in pictures, but either way I think its more flattering than the honey wing lens are, much more my style :) These geo angel grey lenses were from candy lens as well, overall I had a great experience with the company and think the prices are reasonable, shipping is fast and customer service is great.

I would definitely recommend some kind of eye makeup when youre wearing these to balance them out a bit, even if its just some liner and falsies. I also found these easier to photograph than the honey wings, which depending on your angle and lighting can come out kind of funny.

This is how they look with no flash- pretty accurate to how they look in real life, just kind of glassy, not grey really. the grey really only comes out in flash photography- as ive noticed with most of the Angel series. But i kind of like that, as i think the look is a bit intense for real life

So overall these are definitely fun, and im glad ive finally satiated my thirst to see what I looked like with circle lenses, but I think the whole gyaru/ulzzang look isnt very me. But The Geo angel greys are gorgeous imo. :) Ill probably play with these for awhile.

Geo Honey Wing Review (from Candylens.com)

Soooo I know I said I wouldnt but then I did. Hahah I just really wanted to see what Id look like with circle lenses since all the cool kids are getting them theses days har har :) anyways You can get these Geo Honey Wing lenses here at candylens.com

They were slightly uncomfortable the first two days of wear, but now im used to it and it feels like regular old contacts. They carry them in prescription from 1-10 as well. And make sure you tell them which lens case you want since you get a choice =]

I wanted to try one more natural and then one more dramatic circle lens, but even though I like natural stuff I think I actually like the geo Angel Greys more. Ill post up a video and blog post soon so you guys can see, but the honey wings were tough to photograph head on for some reason-but they looked very good in far away photos- like you're not wearing lenses at all!

So yesterday I had a really bad day, so I decided what better way to make myself feel better than some old fashioned retail therapy right? :D Ive been wanting to buy a new MAC pro quad, just because I figure its a lot easier than lugging this thing around:

I love my pro palette, but after a close scare and near heart attack after I dropped it the other day, I decided that I needed to try out the quads just for travel and convenience sake. But since I bought the empty quad of course I had to buy some shadows to fill it with ^__________^

(L-R)Top:Texture, Blanc Type Bottom: Phloof!, Contrast

Texture: Slighty shimmery med. brown, like a darker version of era (great for blending out harsh lines/dark shadows)

Blanc Type: Matte beige. Great matte highlight to balance out dark shadow

Phloof!: Super shimmery off-white

Contrast:Really pretty deep blue, reminds me of deep truth almost

The palette wont stay like this, but they didnt look bad together so thats where ill keep them until I get a new one :D I dont buy shadows in pots anymore because they take up a LOT of space, and I love how the palettes look and how you can really personalize them. But I really love these quads, I think I'll definately buy more! MAC is one of my favorite brands (but im eclectic, I also adore MUFE, Chanel, Lancome, Dior and Shiseido cosmetics/skincare) but sometimes I just get so grossed out in there! It really freaks me out when I see all those little kids run in and stick their grubby little fingers in to everything x.x Does anyone else ever notice this too? haha but anyways all gross things aside this whole blogspot thing was a major pain. It kept deleting my photos and adding big chunks of empty space. Am I just stupid or does blogspot just suck?
